Dr. Daniel Siegel, the best selling author of Mindsight, The Whole-Brain Child and Parenting From the Inside Out, is a clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine and Co-Director of the Mindful Awareness Research Center. Dr. Siegel will discuss his latest book Brainstorm ..The Power and Purpose of the Teenage Brain.

Bipolar Disorder
Journalist, film critic, and author Juliann Garey will discuss her own struggles with mental illness and how her bipolar illness was first misdiagnosed and fell through the cracks between women’s medicine and psychiatry. Dr. Michael Gitlin, Director of the Adult Division of Psychiatry, Director of the Mood Disorders Clinic in the UCLA Dept of Psychiatry and Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA will join Ms. Garey in discussion.
